Forest School

IMG_1019Forest School is “an inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment” (O’Brien & Murray 2008) and has made big strides in area around the UK since it was bought here in 1994 by Bridgewater College.

School in the Forest is quickly becoming a leading light for Forest School in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area and are available for 1 off sessions or block bookings.

Forest School is child led approach to learning that uses natural curiosity and the naturally stimulating environment of a woodland to develop learning, build self esteem and grow independence.

For its full impact children should access Forest School for a sustained period, at least 6 weeks, at a frequency of every week, but at the very least once a fortnight.

Around the fireAt School in the Forest we understand the size of this commitment so we have a range of different options which make Forest School available and open to all, from one off to block sessions, on our site at Cattle Country or from out Woodland Wagon Outreach Service.
