Hands on with maps

Maps are a hard thing to bring to life and can be quite difficult to make interesting for the children. This School in the Forest package hopes to make that a thing of the past.

Using the full potential of our site this package really gets the children hands on and familiar with maps.

The children start with games that get them used to the different Ordinance Survey map symbols.

Orienteering gets them working as part of a team and using compasses and maps to navigate their way.

Children will also be involved with producing their own maps and trails that get them thinking and using all of the skills that they have been picking up throughout the day.
